Dexterra needs a janitor for the camps supporting the Waasigan Transmission Line Project in northwestern Ontario, starting at $19.10 an hour on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation. Travel is by air or ground shuttle from Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Dryden and nearby areas, and meals and your room are covered.
๐ง The Role
- Clean and sanitize the gym, rec room, boot room, front lobby, offices and front desk area
- Clean and restock public washrooms
- Empty garbage and recycling bins
- Sweep floors and run the T-300 floor scrubber
- Keep hand sanitizer stations stocked
- Work with the Lead Housekeeper, Camp Manager and Recruitment Coordinator
๐ CanadaCampJobs Take
Janitorial is the way a lot of people get a first camp job, and the 2-and-2 rotation is a gentle one: two weeks in, two weeks fully off. You're cleaning the shared spaces where hundreds of workers pass through, so the work is steady and you see the whole camp operate. A good starter role if you've done hotel or lodge cleaning and want to see what camp life is like.
โ
Best Fit
- Hotel, lodge or institutional cleaners ready to move to camp work
- First-timers who want a camp job with a short rotation

- Anyone who likes a regular schedule and a shared team environment
- Not a fit for: people who can't be away for two weeks at a time or can't pass a criminal background check
Requirements
- Experience in a remote lodge, hotel or institutional setting (commercial cleaning is an asset)
- Commitment to the 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation
- Valid government-issued photo ID for travel
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs and stand or kneel for long periods
